Interview

  • How do you go that ‘extra mile' in your life?
Like many men my age, I grew up with "best little boy syndrome." Going the extra mile is just part of who I am, inside and out... we were invisible if we weren't ten times better than our peers. Fortunately, those peers seemed to get along just being mediocre, and that worked to this nerdy boy's advantage.
  • Name 5 things that you can’t live without.
A few are mundane: coffee, public transportation, and sidewalks. I've been injured and unable to get myself around before and it really makes me crazy, so the things that make it possible for me to get around are indispensable. Coffee is just on that list, well, because it's coffee. Gotta have it. Don't speak to me before I've had it.

The others are a little more special: my doggo and my close friends. They keep me going; I play, I laugh, and I love every day because of them.
  • How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or you are more of a homebody?
I love to travel! I am a Cancer, so I do love my home time, but I don't let it lock me there. My favorite place I've ever been was Chueca. I loved walking around the neighborhood late at night; it was so warm and inviting and ALIVE. I'd like to do a lot more traveling in the near future.
  • What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy watching anime and science fiction. This is where everyone can see what I giant nerd I am... I don't get to relax very often. When I do, it's usually binge-watching Hulu next to my dog in bed. Give me a story that takes ten hours to unfold, and I'll make snacks.
  • If you and I were on the beach having some wine and great food, what would you tell me about yourself.
I would tell you about the people I have met along the way, and the things that I have learned. I'd recount my own journey, and how all of those things have accumulated to give me vision and passion. I would show you a view of the universe where the tiniest, most insignificant person is the most beautiful example of humanity possible... And I would try to explain why their stories deserve to be told much more than the ones we tell today.
