Interview

  • If you have to pick one thing that everyone else should absolutely know about you, what would it be?
I value my independence deeply. Although I am intimacy forward, all of my connections are built around creating space to keep exploring and growing on my own terms. It’s a personality trait that drives a lot of my big life decisions. (As you can probably see by me being on this site lol)
  • What are your hobbies? What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love Shibari!!!! Like love love it. I’m in a program to develop my tying skills and am lucky enough to have a lovely community of people I tie with. I also love photography and doing sexy photoshoots. I legitimately find joy in color theory, which I know is a little sick. I love fixing and maintaining motorcycles (most of the time), and I aim to get better at it with practice.
  • How do you go that ‘extra mile' in your life?
I’m always exposing myself to new philosophies and ideas. I never let myself stagnate, which helps me keep up with healthy nutrition and fitness practices, culture and politics, and building community.
  • What do you do for fun?
I love to escape to Palm Springs and spend a weekend by the pool in the summer. Or pretty much anything in Joshua Tree is a treat. I love late night dancing and exploring the LGBT clubs in new cities. I have a list of cities I’d love to explore and when I get a chance to tour a city on foot I’m always amped. I also love a romantic dinner, I’m a sucker, I know. Sharing food and ideas, drinking delicious cocktails or wine, it’s just always a treat.
  • Tell us what you consider to be your greatest life experience.
Wow, that’s a hard question! The greatest!? I don’t know if there is just one that stands out. But I have a few small ones that I think back on fondly. One is an incredible road trip I had with one of my favorite people on the planet. We impulsively stopped in a coastal town and bought a to go seafood dinner, a six pack of local beer and hightailed it to the cliff side ocean park late at night. The simplicity of the the moment and how satisfying it was to smell the salty air after being on the freeway all day really sticks with me. It was just so simple and gorgeous. Damn. I need to go on a road trip soon!
  • What makes you stand out from the crowd?
Visibly, my short cropped hair cut and gold septum ring, maybe the ripped black skinny jeans I’m wearing that day. As an individual, I tend to differ from my peers in my pervasive commitment to adding nuance to conversations. I’m not a fan of easily accepted truths and I tend to like to push the label when it comes to our world views. That and that I am very immediately friendly and warm, even if you don’t know me.
  • What are your greatest personal traits?
I am told that I am bubbly a lot. I know that what people mean is that I am warm and incredibly accommodating. Hospitality is my strength because I feel good when I am making the person next to me feel good. I like to know how you like your cocktails made and then to make it even better. I might have a teacher’s pet complex!
  • What is your ‘niche’?
My niche is artists, kinksters, queer, polyamorous, sex positive folks. I love folks that live their truth and live vibrantly.
  • How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or you are more of a homebody?
I love to travel but am learning the importance of spending time getting back to baseline at home. I will travel once a month is it fits into my budget and my schedule.
  • What kind of diet and fitness regiment do you follow?
I love to cross train! I am currently taking functional fitness classes that mix HIT training, strength and gymnastics. I previously have done rock climbing, martial arts, biking, hiking, trail running and weight lifting. Nutrition wise, it’s still a work in progress. I try to meal prep fresh vegetables with every meal, and love seafood and vegetable proteins.
  • What’s your lifestyle? What makes you who you are?
My lifestyle is eclectic. I’ve lived many lives and tried a billion things. I like fast things, like motorcycles, kinky sex parties and exploring the wilderness. I like slowing down by writing poetry, creating photographs of beautiful people and morning cups of coffee in stillness. I have an active social life and I am an extrovert by nature. I love to be around people and it drives a lot of my day to day choices.
  • What would you like your followers to know about you that is unique and even a bit personal?
I really give a fuck about what people are feeling. I find it strange that so many people don’t. I receive a lot of resistance to this part of my personality.
  • If you and I were on the beach having some wine and great food, what would you tell me about yourself.
I’ll be honest I’d probably ask you questions about you. I tend toward wanting to learn about the person I’m with before I talk about myself. I like to know who I’m sharing an experience with. But, if you asked I might tell you about my international travels and where I’d like to go next. I might tell you about training in Martial Arts and studying Eastern Philosophy and how much it has informed me approach to life.
  • What should others absolutely know about you?
I am an honest, vulnerable, connection driven communicator. I take straight forward communication seriously and appreciate when people mean what they say. I am serious about building connection with others, even in brief lustful passings. I am equal parts spontaneous artist, excavating the universe for it’s most raw experiences and nurturing lover, with a service oriented heart.
  • What do you enjoy most about yourself?
My undying commitment to growth. It’s an annoying answer but it’s the truth. Becoming me, in my most organic form, was not a graceful ascent into “my best self,” with a green smoothie in one hand and a fingertip liking an inspirationall-quote-meme on the other. My growth process was more of a brutal reckoning. Layers of trauma peeled back and the kicking and screaming of a child self always resistant to moving on. It was maybe best described as a days long hike with many thousands of feet of elevation on sharp, loose shale. Maybe that’s why I’m so keen on hikes that make you feel like you are dying, because I’ve always been a fan of rebirth in all it’s painful iterations. That novella aside, I have come to enjoy my fearless jousting with the universe. I am brave, in a way most men aren’t-I’m emotionally brave. Weird flex right? I have a talent for navigating complex human experiences and finding ways to exist with more ease and resilience. I’ve gotten quite good at it and it’s a gift I like to share with those who are special to me.
